Wayfarer Blues Tour

Poster Design • Event Marketing Materials • Social Media Graphics

OVERVIEW

The Wayfarer Blues Tour brought together two distinctive artists—Cary Hudson & Dan Raza—for a series of performances across the Mississippi, including a featured stop in Columbus. To support the tour’s promotion, we were tasked with developing a cohesive visual campaign that could promote both the multi-city tour and the Columbus performance.

Because each artist brings a unique musical style and visual identity, the challenge was to create a unified design language that felt authentic to both performers while still presenting the tour as a shared experience. The final materials needed to capture the raw, roots-driven energy of blues music while remaining flexible enough to work across print and digital platforms.

APPROACH

Our design approach focused on visually bridging the two artists’ styles through a blues-inspired aesthetic rooted in texture, tone, and atmosphere. Rather than leaning into overly polished concert marketing, we intentionally embraced a gritty, soulful look that reflected the character of live blues performances.

The visual system incorporated moody color palettes, layered textures, and expressive typography to evoke the feeling of vintage music posters while still feeling contemporary. The goal was to create artwork that felt like it belonged in a blues venue—something that immediately communicated the genre and mood before a viewer even read the details.

The campaign included three coordinated pieces: a tour schedule poster promoting the full run of shows, a concert poster specifically highlighting the Columbus stop, and a suite of social media graphics designed to extend the visual identity across digital platforms. Each piece shared the same core design language, ensuring the promotion felt cohesive regardless of where audiences encountered it.

OUTCOME

The final materials created a unified promotional identity for the Wayfarer Blues Tour while still honoring the individuality of both artists. The blues-driven visual style helped communicate the authenticity and energy of the performances, setting the tone for audiences before they even arrived at the venue.

By maintaining a consistent look across print posters and social media graphics, the campaign strengthened recognition for the tour while giving organizers versatile promotional tools to use across multiple platforms. The result was a cohesive visual system that supported the tour’s storytelling and amplified the atmosphere of the live music experience.
